| General Info: | Haugesund area was quite a surprise for us!! Fjords, waterfall, coast and city culture, viking history, glacier, mountains and sea, idyllic islands and lighthouses are among what you will find in this region. It’s very easy to travel in Norway, but quite pricy!! |

| 1 | London – Haugesund | After a short early morning flight from Stanstead (1.30h) we arrived in Haugesund.We collected our pre-booked car and started heading to the city…just to see what it looked like. Our cottage was kind in the middle of nowhere towards north, so we stopped to the supermarket in the city for some food supplying. You realize soon how expensive is Norway…a loaf of bread is around 4£!!?The road to North is spectacular…we stopped several time…it crosses lakes, forests and nice small villages! |
| 2 – 3 | Balmo and surrounding area | Here what to do in a couple of days:- Lots of hiking – more or less everywhere as the area is very wild. We went around with the car and followed the many trails. The most famous hike of the area is the Trolltunga hike (10 hours return)
– Tried fishing in few spot…next time we will be more prepared…we didn’t have the proper tools! – We spent the last evening in Haugesund and we were recommended to have dinner in the Brasserie Brakstad. The fish soup was amazing!! |

This place is simply amazing. The cottage can fit 4 people. You can hire a boat and go fishing or you can even fish from the balcony…like our german neighbours were doing! You also have a small BBQ to cook your fish! |
